The following is an overview for each bill, its current status, and the source link to full bill on the AZLeg.gov website.
Key:
Statutes that begin with 33-12__ are a part of Arizona’s Condominium Act.
Statutes that begin with 33-18__ are a part of Arizona’s Planned Communities Statutes.
Statutes that begin with 10- are a part of Arizona’s Corporations Act.
SB refers to Senate Bill, and HB refers to House Bill.
The Legislature has not taken action on these bills for over a month or the bills have been held in committee and are not appearing on any committee agendas. Note that there is the possibility that any “inactive” bill could reappear in a special committee meeting or striker amendment.
Bills Passed Into Law
Arizona’s Governor has signed these bills into law to be effective 90 days following adjournment of the legislative session sine die.
When does Arizona’s legislative session run?
Arizona’s legislative session begins on the second Monday in January each year and is scheduled to last 100 days, though it is typically extended beyond that period.
Are these bills already law?
No. The bills listed are proposals only and are not yet changes to the law. They remain subject to change as the legislative session progresses and do not modify either the Planned Community Statutes or Condominium Act unless indicated in the summaries.
How will I know if a bill becomes law?
CHDB Law will notify you of any bills that are enacted into law and provide information on how such newly enacted bills may affect community association operations.
What do HB and SB mean?
SB refers to Senate Bill, and HB refers to House Bill. These represent the legislative chamber in which the bills were first introduced.
